With the gorgeous Rocky Mountains and vast rolling foothills in the background, the one-of-a-kind landscapes of southwest Alberta have inspired many artists to make this region their home and gallery space.

Come meet Albertan artists, view unique work, and maybe find something special to take home. Start your day with a scenic 45-minute drive to Black Diamond, via Highway 22. You can enjoy fresh air and a country breakfast at the Black Diamond Bakery. Then walk off your breakfast by strolling to The Firebrand Glass Studio, Black Diamond Gallery, Branch Market Studio, Suncatchers, The River Dragonfly, Archer’s Antiques & One of a Kind Art & Gift Gallery or to the Bluerock Gallery.

Head back down the highway to High River to explore a local pottery and metal-working studio, where you can meet the artists-owners at Pike Studios. While in town, venture over to Evanescence Gallery and Art Studio, or browse the work at Art and Soul Studio Gallery, featuring local watercolor works. On the drive back towards Calgary, travel through Okotoks, to explore western art at the Boot Hill Gallery, and relish a meal at Bistro 1882, where you can enjoy modern French cuisine in a casual environment.
